In his letter
to the Lonely Planet, Nigel Butler of 54 Pinner road, Harrow,
Middlesex, writes:
"This
place is one of the most relaxing venues I have had the fortune
of to find on my travels. Good food, reasonably
priced and delivered with a warm smile is the perfect way to
recover from a day's hiking. I'd particularly
recommend the hot apple pie and even when requested 5 minutes
before closing tome, as I did to get my last "fix"
prior to my departure, it will always be delivered with a welcome
as warm as the pastry. It's a must for your next
guide"

One of the most popular spots in town, this friendly café serves
cheap and testy Western food such as pasta, vege burgers, steaks
and sandwiches. The apple pie comes highly recommended,
too, and it’s a nice place just to sit out one of the frequent
downpours with a coffee and meet up with other travelers.

Justifie. Ce restaurant est l’endroit ideal pour venire
prendre un repas ou une collation de scones et the pour le tea
time! L’apple Pie est egalement tres bon. Le menu propose
des plats malais ou occidentaux, tres bien cuisines et peu chers.
L’interieur est tout en bois ce qui lui donne un petit cote
vieillot charmant. Cerise sur le gateau, le personnel est
absolument adorable et aux petits soins. Une tres bonne
adresse.

"The place itself isn't too
bad if you like the outdoors and are fascinated with plants. My
friends and I highly recommend the T Cafe (Tanah Rata)

Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands
Pahang
Tel : 019 5722883
Open : 11am - 10pm
Closed Sundays
Average Price : RM10 per person
T-Cafe was started
by a group of friends way back in 2002. This is a cool place and
stop by for the scones as well. These are value for money. When
we were there, we found out that they have other delicious food
on the menu too. Fun Fun! Read on..
High up among the highlands, T Cafe is located at Tanah Rata,
Cameron Highlands (Just above Marry Browns). You'd be pleased
to know that T-Cafe also cater for vegetarians, with vegetarian
lasagne, claypot rice and their special curry topping the list of
recommended vegetarian dishes to try. Fresh from their very own
kitchen comes apple pies, scones, cheesecakes and pancakes for
dessert. But there is more.... T-Cafe has a great atmosphere,
good for unwinding all your tangled thoughts.
Besides the pastas, the French onion soup and Sirloin steak are
worth a try. Simple dishes but value for money. Do not miss the
mango, lassi, homemade with yoghurt and half a mango each. This
is one thick, creamy and delicious drink. We actually came here
for the scones. Whilst theirs are not the best in Cameron
Highlands, they certainly are the best value in town at RM2.00!
Comes with a dollop of cream, blueberry jam and two slices of
butter for you to play with the scones.
Sip some with teas
ranging from Earl Grey to Rooibos with prices starting from
RM1.50. If you come with friends, share a plate of cheescake,
apple pie and banana pancakes with a dollop of ice cream on the
side to complete the meal.

Afternoon Tea @ T-Cafe
T Cafe is a cosy and homely cafe
located on the first floor above the MarryBrown fast food
restaurant in Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands.
We stopped by this place on Sunday afternoon during our trip to
Cameron Highlands but much to our disappointment, the place is
closed. We only realised by then this place is closed every
Sunday. The opening hours are from 11 am till 10 pm every day
except Sunday. From what I gathered from friends ~ this place
serves very nice apple pies, scones, cheese cakes and
pancakes.
We came back here again the next day. Initially I thought they
serve only western food but I was wrong. They serve both
Western and Eastern Cuisine.. including char koay teow as well.
..
The lady boss, Terese is very warm and friendly Indian gal. She
greeted us with a big smile. We can see numerous postcards,
letter and photos sent by their customers (local and foreigners
as well) on the notice board.. Good testimonies of their good,
friendly and warm services.
The inferior design of this cafe is very cosy and homely-looked.
It has lotsa wooden fixtures, contributing to a rather
old-worldly look. There's a shelf on one corner with lotsa
books, magazines and reading materials. One can check their
e-mails online as well while waiting for their food to be
served.. with just a small payment of 50 cents for 10
minutes.
We had a pot of hot Cameron tea together with cream scones, apple
pie and banana pancake.
The scone were served warm with whipped cream, butter curls and
strawberry jam. The texture is just nice with the buttery
flavour. Yummy and delicious :)
The Banana pancake, with thin slices of banana inside the
pancake. Small amount of icing sugar was sprinkled on top of the
pancake. Recommended to take together with a scoop of ice cream
and honey as well, but we didn't opt for the ice cream..
The Apple Pie. Icing sugar was sprinkled on top of the freshly
baked apple pie as well. I will say they really serve nice apple
pie here... :)
And of course, a cup of hot Cameron tea as well ;)
We came back here again the next day for another round of scones.
My hubby really likes their scones very much. We have tasted the
scones in few other places in Cameron Highland, and in our
opinion, this place serve the best and most delicious scone, and
some more, it's only RM 2 per piece :)
Beside scones, we had Choco Crepe, pasta and Mango Lassi as
well.
Their Mango Lassi is one of the recommended drinks.. ( half a
mango is mixed with the freshly home made yoghurt).
I will highly recommend my friends to drop by this place if they
visit Cameron Highlands. And surely we will come back here again
if we visit Cameron Highlands in the future..

Ate scones at T cafe next to Tanah Rata Marry Brown. It was very
nice and cheap indeed- RM2.40 per plate and well served with
home-made jam, butter and some other thing. The tea was nice too
and I would recommend a try to anyone that will drop by Cameron
Highland..
